The world of Darvin Carpenter, a PI in Albuquerque, NM
This is actually the second Carpenter novel, but it's the first which is available for me to post. This is the first visit of the Carpenters to Red Hawk since Darvin left Red Hawk back in the 80s. It ties in with a short story called "Ghost," which I'm also posting so you can get the background of this novel. Also, because of the overwhelmingly positive feedback from The Chief, I'll be posting more chapters at a time. :)

This story is my take on what the words for the Rolling Stones great song might mean. Sad and dark at the beginning but bright and sunny at the end. Follow Jim as he deals with his loss and gives up on love.
This is a short story about a man who has a pretty good life, you might even say a rich life. He has things and yet he is lonely. Like most of us he doesn't realize that he is missing something. This is also a story about a young woman who is also missing something in her life. Well to say more would be to give you too much information.
